How does the brain represent memories?

The idea that the brain might represents memories of different ages in qualitatively distinct ways is currently a matter of debate. This issue has been approached from various different perspectives but so far, EEG data is notably lacking. As part of an ongoing PhD project I am aiming to address this gap by comparing EEG activity associated with memories formed very recently to the activity produce by older memories. My research adopts a prospective approach which allows control over a number of potentially confounding factors and also permits an investigation of brain activity during encoding as well as during recognition.

I am always looking for people to take part in this research! If you are interested in being a participant please get in touch.
